IMPORTANT:Please arrive 10 minutes before your scheduled tour time to check in and start your tour and training on time. If you arrive late we will NOT let you join a tour group that has already started training and your money will not be refunded or your tour rescheduled. Safety and complete training for all of our guests is our main priority. 


Are there Age Restrictions?

Participants participants must be 12 years of age or older. 


Where do the tours start and where can I park?

Toucan Tours start from National Storage 11 May Street, Brisbane City, Australia 4000. Reservations are required for our tours and can be made online. On street metered parking is available but it is very limited during busier times. There are numerous paid parking options on Roma Street. The closest is the Secure Parking – Brisbane Transit Centre Car Park. Use the Translink Journey Planner if you travel by public transport as it’s the easiest option.


What are the weight restrictions for a Segway?

Must be between 45kg – 125kg.  


Where do you go on Segway Tours?

We journey through the South Park precinct, Botanical Gardens and along the river boardwalks. There is plenty of opportunities to take photos and we don’t push the tours so everyone will feel relaxed and safe. 


Are Tours cancelled when it’s raining?

Our tours run in rain or shine. We have rain gear available when it’s just intermittent rain or drizzly. Segways are designed to run in any weather. In the rare case of a tour cancellation due to a severe rain we will offer space on an alternate date or time. We will refund you if you are unavailable for a rescheduled time. 


How do I learn to ride a Segway?

All customers are required to take a 20-25 minute on board training session to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience. 20-25 minutes on segway training time is part of the overall tour time. Riders are trained on safe Segway operation, emergency stops. All riders are required to wear a helmet.


Who can’t ride a Segway?

All guests must be able to easily and quickly step on and off the Segway without any assistance, which requires physical abilities similar to climbing and descending stairs without assistance or use of a handrail. 

Segway riding is not recommended for pregnant women. Unfortunately, pregnant guests will not be permitted to participate due to fall risk. This activity may not be recommended for some guests age 70 and up with mobility issues. 

  • No participant is to drink alcohol before or during the tour, if you are suspected of drinking you will forfeit your tour and you will not be offered a refund. 
  • You must wear a helmet
  • Sign a liability waiver.
  • Be able to stand on the Segway for a period of 1-2 hours
  • Complete the Segway rider training and test ride
  • No high heels, sandals or flip flops.
  • No refunds for guests that ignore the requirements.
  • Respect road signs, pedestrians, bikes and cars for a safe enjoyable ride
  • Arrive 10 minutes early to check in and be ready for fun!
  • If you or a member of your group has a disability or medical condition please get prior medical approval to ensure your safety.

Can we go to the toilet on the tour?

Yes there are plenty of places we can stop to allow this it gives you peace of mind.


How long does a Segway tour last?

Just over one hour after an induction, training and safety briefing.


What should I wear?

Summer Months:

Dress comfortable and with sunscreen during Brisbane’s hotter months. You must wear comfortable flat closed toe shoes. Definitely no high heels, thongs or sandals. Each Segway has a small handlebar storage bag for cameras, light jackets and purses. Backpacks or bulky bags will not fit in the handlebar bags. Please leave bulky backpacks at home. Guests may bring their own bike helmets.

Winter Months:

Warm, wind resistant clothing during our winter months. We have a supply of rain ponchos, warm jackets and lightweight knit gloves. Guests may bring their own bike helmets.
